About The Author
Shelley Saby is a wife, mom, mother-in-law, stepmom, and "Gigi" to her beloved grandchildren. She and her family reside in Minnesota. Though she always had a strong faith, it wasn't until she was invited to a neighborhood Bible study at the age of 35 that she opened up a Bible and had a life-changing realization: "There You Are, Jesus!"
Why I Wrote This
This book was born from a poem I wrote in 2010. During that season, God gave me a revelation and stirred a deep desire in my heart to share with others what a relationship with Jesus looks like to me.
I used it in our family Christmas card in 2011, and I have shared it on my social media the last few years. A friend encouraged me to take the poem God gave me and turn it into a children’s book that could touch hearts of kids and their parents.
I knew exactly how I wanted the story to look, and when I found a children’s illustrator in Brazil, everything clicked. She helped bring the characters I love so dearly to life in the most beautiful, shining way.
I hope this book delights children with its fun, colorful storytelling, and also leads their hearts—and yours—to the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus.
